This Cookie Policy explains how Levlan International Marketing uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit levlan.com.

It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use and protect personal information.

1. Who We Are

Levlan International Marketing

2. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small pieces of information that a website stores on, or accesses from, your computer, smartphone, tablet or other device.

They can be used to make websites function correctly, remember preferences, protect forms from abuse and understand how visitors use a website.

Similar technologies, such as local storage, pixels, tags and scripts, may perform comparable functions.

UK rules relating to cookies and similar storage or access technologies are primarily contained in the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations. The ICO requires websites to clearly explain what these technologies do and, where no legal exception applies, obtain valid consent before using them.

3. How Levlan Uses Cookies

Levlan may use cookies and similar technologies to operate and secure levlan.com, remember visitor choices, protect website forms, measure website usage and improve the performance and effectiveness of our content and marketing.

The services currently detected on levlan.com are:

Jetpack StatsAutomattic / JetpackProvides website visitor and traffic statisticsStatistics / Analytics
Google reCAPTCHAGoogleHelps protect forms and the website from spam and automated abuseSecurity / Essential

The technologies used on levlan.com may change as the website develops. We will review this policy when new services, plugins or integrations are introduced.

4. WordPress Comment Cookies

If commenting is enabled on Levlan Insights or other parts of the website, WordPress may use cookies to remember information entered by visitors when they leave a comment.

WordPress documents the standard comment cookies as:

comment_author_{HASH}
comment_author_email_{HASH}
comment_author_url_{HASH}

These cookies allow a visitor’s details to be pre-filled when they leave another comment. WordPress states that standard commenter cookies expire a little under one year after they are set.

These cookies are associated with commenting functionality and are only relevant where the website’s commenting features are used.

5. Google Analytics

Levlan currently uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors use levlan.com.

Google Analytics can help us understand matters such as which pages are visited, how people reach the website, how visitors move around the site and general website performance.

In a standard Google Analytics 4 implementation, Google documents the following first-party cookies:

CookiePurposeDefault duration
_gaDistinguishes individual users2 years
_ga_<container-id>Maintains session information2 years

Google states that these are the default durations and that website owners can configure them differently.

Where Levlan relies on consent for Google Analytics, WPConsent will be configured to prevent the relevant analytics scripts from operating until the necessary permission has been provided.

6. Jetpack Stats

Levlan currently uses Jetpack Stats, provided by Automattic, to obtain general website statistics.

Jetpack Stats can record information including page and post views, referring URLs, outbound link clicks, search terms and country information. Automattic states that Jetpack Stats may process technical information such as IP addresses, user agents, visiting and referring URLs, timestamps and browser language. It also states that Stats logs containing visitor IP addresses are retained for 28 days for the purpose of operating the feature.

Jetpack’s use of cookies depends on which Jetpack features are active. Its public cookie documentation lists cookies for Stats and other Jetpack functionality, and Levlan will continue to review the cookies actually operating on levlan.com rather than assuming every Jetpack cookie applies.

Where consent or another legally required control applies, Levlan’s cookie management system will be used accordingly.

7. Google reCAPTCHA

Levlan uses Google reCAPTCHA to help protect website forms from spam, automated submissions and abuse.

Google describes reCAPTCHA as a security service that uses risk analysis to distinguish legitimate users from automated activity.

Google states that reCAPTCHA sets a necessary cookie called:

_GRECAPTCHA

when it is executed for the purpose of providing its risk analysis.

Because reCAPTCHA is being used for website and form security, we currently categorise it as a Security / Essential technology.

8. Essential and Security Technologies

Some technologies are necessary to provide a website function requested by the visitor or to operate essential aspects of a service.

Under current UK rules, certain storage and access technologies may be used without consent where a specific legal exception applies. The ICO’s current guidance includes exceptions covering strictly necessary technologies and certain other limited purposes.

Levlan will only treat a technology as exempt where we reasonably believe the relevant legal conditions are met.

9. Analytics and Statistical Technologies

Analytics technologies help us understand how levlan.com performs and how visitors use it.

Current UK law includes a specific exception for certain technologies used solely for statistical purposes, subject to conditions including providing clear information and an easy means of objecting. Not every analytics implementation automatically qualifies for that exception.

Where Levlan does not rely on an applicable exception, the relevant analytics technologies will be controlled through our consent system.

10. Cookie Consent

When you first visit levlan.com, you may be shown a cookie consent notice.

Where consent is required, you will be able to decide whether optional technologies may be used.

Our consent system may provide choices such as Accept, Reject Optional Cookies, or Manage Preferences.

The ICO states that valid consent must involve a clear positive action and that technologies requiring consent should not be set before valid consent has been obtained.

The current WPConsent configuration on levlan.com is set to prevent known scripts from adding cookies before the required consent has been given.

11. Changing Your Cookie Preferences

You can change your cookie preferences through the cookie settings controls available on levlan.com.

Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time.

Changing your preferences will not affect the lawfulness of processing that took place before your consent was withdrawn.

You can also delete or block cookies using your browser settings, although doing so may affect some website functionality.

12. Third-Party Services

Some cookies and similar technologies used by levlan.com are provided by third parties.

The services currently detected include Google and Automattic / Jetpack.

When these organisations process information through their own services, their respective privacy and cookie terms may also apply.

Levlan will periodically review third-party integrations and update this policy where additional providers are introduced.

13. Embedded Content

Levlan may use embedded content such as videos, maps, social media content or other third-party services.

Embedded services may use their own cookies or similar technologies.

Where those technologies require consent, we will aim to prevent them from operating until the appropriate visitor choice has been made.

Any additional embedded services introduced before launch will be reviewed as part of Levlan’s final cookie and privacy audit.

14. Personal Information and Cookies

Some cookies and similar technologies may involve the processing of personal information, such as IP addresses, device information, browser information, identifiers and website usage information.

Further information about how Levlan handles personal information, the lawful bases we rely upon, international transfers and your rights is available in our Privacy Policy.

15. International Data Transfers

Some of our technology providers may process information outside the United Kingdom.

Where personal information is transferred internationally, Levlan will take appropriate steps to comply with applicable UK data protection requirements.

Further information about international transfers is available in our Privacy Policy.

16. How Long Cookies Remain on Your Device

Cookies may be either session cookies, which normally expire when your browser session ends, or persistent cookies, which remain for a defined period unless deleted earlier.

The duration depends on the particular cookie and the service that provides it.

For example, WordPress standard commenter cookies are documented as lasting a little under one year, while standard Google Analytics _ga and _ga_<container-id> cookies have a default lifespan of two years.

Browser restrictions, visitor settings and changes made by service providers may result in shorter retention periods.

17. Browser Cookie Controls

Most browsers allow you to manage cookies through their privacy or security settings.

You can generally use your browser to view stored cookies, remove existing cookies, block cookies from particular websites, restrict third-party cookies or block cookies altogether.

Blocking all cookies may prevent certain features of levlan.com from operating correctly.

Browser controls operate separately from Levlan’s own cookie preference system.

18. Changes to This Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy when the website changes.

This may happen when we introduce new plugins or website features, change analytics services, add advertising or marketing technologies, introduce new embedded services, or where applicable laws and regulatory guidance change.

The latest version will always be published on levlan.com.

The date shown at the top of this policy indicates when it was last updated.

I’d consider this a good current publication version. When you get closer to launch, I’d run WPConsent again after every final plugin, video embed, GTranslate integration and marketing service has been installed; then we can update Sections 3–7 with anything new the scan finds.
